Q1. What are the best size vinyl labels to order to start with?
Answer: For a new starter we recommend small or popular labels. If you are confused then why not try the mixed pack like the starter vinyl pack and then choose the preferred labels for your next order.

Q2. Which are the best iron on labels or stick on labels for clothing?
Answer: It depends what you like. All our iron on labels have been thoroughly tested and are also sold to Care Homes. The economy iron on name tapes for clothes are only suitable as a quick turnaround short term solution. The easy to use iron on name tags are much stronger. For continual tumble drying all winter one of our favourites is the new H shaped Stikins® stick on clothing labels.

Q3. Do you produce a mixed pack to try different sizes of labels?
Answer: Yes we have introduced a starter vinyl pack with 20 of each of the types of vinyl labels except for large vinyl labels. Try out small vinyl labels, popular vinyl labels, mini vinyl labels and vinyl shoe labels and decide your personal favourites yourself. Great for new school starts or daycare nursery attendance.

Q4. Can I split the pack into two names?
Answer: No. Our production only allows for a pack with one name.  However, once you have used some you will be amazed just how fast you will find applications for our name labels on just about anything! The alternative is to have a surname only or a forename at either side of the surname like "Jane Smith, Peter" and then cut the label at either end. An image is not suitable for the name labels when you do this.

Q5. Can I photocopy the order form and send in additional photocopied forms and can I send a handwritten order with a cheque?
Answer: Yes, no problem with this but include your address and phone number for queries.

Q6. I want tiny labels for my child’s pencils. Which will fit?
Answer: Mini vinyl labels are ideal for pens and pencils. They go down the length of the pencil.
As another brilliant idea for the very end of pencils one customer chose to print their initials nonstop across the mini label with a single gap between each set of initials and then cut the label into small pieces!

Q7. Can I order personalised bag tags with only a picture and no wording?
Answer: Yes, you can have anything you like, even all text and no image.

Q8. The school wants to order a pack of name labels for every class for drink bottles. Can we supply class lists for this and have some labels for each child?
Answer: Yes you can order this by telephoning us to confirm costings but we prefer to only do this for very large orders as the time setting up the printing is prohibitive.

Q9. Can I order by telephone instead?
Answer: Yes. You can order any way you prefer although we do recommend that it is best to order online to see the range of images and colours yourself and get the spelling of your name correct on the label in the upper or lower case exactly as you wish to have printed. There is also a £2 administration charge for orders placed over the telephone due to the time taken to complete all the details accurately and for the customer to decide on colours, texts and images.  This is time taken away from production which we do not mind but we do need to charge for.

Q10. How do I apply my labels?
Answer: Vinyl labels are applied to a clean and dry surface. Always apply the clear cover to vinyl shoe labels when they are inside the shoes. All our iron on clothing labels must be adhered with a medium to hot iron but if it is too hot the economy iron on name tapes for clothes will melt so turn the temperature down a little. Dab the iron on and off or turn the garment over to iron if this is easier.  Important that there is no steam or water in the iron and no additional fabric covering placed over the labels for all our iron on clothing labels and never re-iron over the labels later with a steam iron. For these a general guideline is 10 seconds 3 times.

Q11. Which labels are the best for school sports (drawstring) bags?
Answer: Stikins® Stick on Clothing Labels, original iron on or sew on labels, or easy to use iron on name tagsVinyl labels are better on flat sufaces like school bags and music or sport cases.

Q12. Will your name labels stay on beach equipment, inflatables and armbands?
Answer: Vinyl labels will stay on all of the above as long as they are on a flat surface side that is not being jumped on continually by a body!

Q13. Can vinyl shoe labels be used on other things?
Answer: Yes, on anything except clothing and without the need for the clear cover. The clear cover is only needed inside shoes due to the ink reacting with perspiration.

Q14. Will your name labels go through a baby sterilizer on a baby bottle or comforter?
Answer: Vinyl labels will do this as will our economy iron on name tapes for clothes.

Q15. How long will it take to get my name labels?
Answer: We always post 1st class or faster. Within the UK your name labels should be with you in 2 weeks. Original iron on or sew on labels can sometimes take longer than this so we say to allow 28 days just for quieter times of the year and as a safeguard so that we will always over deliver to the customer and not disappoint.

If you have ordered original iron on or sew on labels with vinyl labels or tape you can opt for split delivery to allow for vinyl labels to be sent on ahead of original  iron on or sew on labels, or to allow for economy iron on name tapes for clothes to be sent ahead of other products.

As a guideline our economy iron on name tapes for clothes, personalised bag tags and stickers are generally with the customer within a week if ordered on their own. Sew on clothing labels take around two weeks. All our name tapes and name tags are definately worth the wait ! To ensure you receive the quickest part of your order as soon as it is ready just order with SPLIT POSTAGE.

Q16. Does express delivery mean you will produce my labels quicker?
Answer: No. Production time cannot be altered as we are as quick as possible already. What can be sped up is the delivery. By having express then you are not waiting for Royal Mail but have a van deliver instead.

Q17. I am moving abroad so will you deliver abroad if I order online?
Answer: Yes. We deliver almost anywhere in the world. For the US we always have either airmail or international signed post. International signed must only be used if you are going to be at home to accept and sign for the parcel. This is also not available for post office addresses abroad.

Q18. Will you deliver to a different delivery address as a gift?
Answer: We can do this although as a security measure for the Bank we prefer to deliver to the customer address as per your card details. If you have a special request please do not hesitate to call and leave a message so that we can contact you to discuss your requirements.

Q19. I want fast delivery and production of some iron on labels but have ordered other products as well. How long will they take to deliver and can I have them sent on ahead of other products ordered?
Answer: Order split delivery so that labels are sent in two parts, the quickest sent out as soon as they are ready.

Q20. How can I order a standard allergy message on my labels but with a different picture?
Answer: Yes, you can write your own message even if you prefer but order these in the section under the size of label you want rather than in the standard vinyl allergy labels section to allow you space for your text and choice of image, if any.

Q21. Can you provide samples?
Answer: Yes, email us at sales@labels4kids.com or phone labels4kids on +44 01786 473508.

Q22. Why should I order from labels4kids?
Answer: We are UK produced and designed, a growing family business, we have kids too, we offer the widest choice of images, colours and sizes, and we offer friendly, efficient and helpful service where the customer always comes first.

Q23. My iron on labels are not staying on. What am I doing wrong?
Answer: According to the manufacturer of the economy iron on name tapes for clothes, " Some new garments like white shirts etc often have a filler starch finish , which causes the labels not to stick . If the customer pre washes the garment once , before applying the labels they should see a difference. The starch finish is on these shirts and grey wear garments to make them feel more substantial ,but usually after washing they become limp, so manufacturers cheat to improve the feel of the garment. Our labels will not stick to starch finish and labelling new school wear seems to cause a problem on a small number items".

Q24. What are the benefits of signing up for an Account with Labels4kids?
Answer: "My Account" gives you the ability to keep your order history so that you can easily see what you ordered before if you wish to reorder and have forgotten the name of what you ordered in the past. It also means you will be able to receive newsletters from us and discounts atleast once a year for returning to school.

Q25. I am Fundraising at our school or daycare nursery. How do I see what my balance is on my school account?
