Label Design Tips
At Labels4Kids all our name labels are individually designed - that's why they look so good. Not all names display well on all labels. In those cases we will always make any adjustments necessary to make your name labels look great if we feel the text is too small or too faint. Sometimes we will phone to ask whether we can drop the image if necessary. Below are some examples : • Text only will be centred on the vinyl labels (see pink small vinyl labels above),and • Name only goes on 1 line unless the name is too long. For most vinyl labels with name only they are split over 2 lines if the name long making the text too small. • For vinyl labels with a name and an image the text will be to the left of the image. • For 2 lines of text with an image again the image is on the right on these popular vinyl labels but also on small vinyl labels. • For small vinyl labels with an image the name is split over 2 lines unless the name if very short like a surname only and an image. • For a starter vinyl pack which may have 2 lines of selected text: the second line of text is normally only shown on the small vinyl labels and popular vinyl labels due to space, and no image can be shown on the mini vinyl labels.
Our opinion on our iron on clothing labels, and our Stikins® stick on clothing labels and the differences between them all. We have not included economy iron on name tapes for clothes in this analysis as we consider these as a quick fix fast turnaround option only. Some people have great success but our testing has shown them to be less effective than the other options.
Vinyl labels samples

• where the name is too long you can see that we split the name over 2 lines (Carina Farmery).
• For vinyl shoe labels with images the name is usually on one line so if the name is long beware that it may be too busy or too small, especially if you request an image, a name AND a telephone number.

Clothing "Economy Iron-on Name Tapes for clothes” Samples
• One line of text will be centred as shown. The Samantha Stone and Craig Conway text styles are best on these labels unless you have a very long name when Adam Best is preferred as it is narrower.
• One line and an image will have the text centred on the left side of the image.
• If your name is short and you order 2 lines of text you can see here that it is really way too small, so we tend to change this to the next example with…
• One line of text. Also this Adam Best text style is great for very long lines as shown in the next example.
• Here the long name and spider shown in Adam Best text look fine.
• 2 line of text are best with no image if you want them prominent, however…
• Our last example shows that 2 lines of text can still work when centred to the left of an image.
